For the most difficult challenges, it might be impossible to do something about them unless laws are changed and monetary incentives set up. For many people, the best and easiest way forward is to not change. Not changing means e.g. throwing all waste into the same bin and not separating the valuables into their appropriate recycling bins. However, if there is a monetary award, say in less cost for trash pick-up if you recycle properly, then the deed is done and change happens over night. No questions asked. It is key to show the positive outcomes of the changed behavior - and unfortunately most of us understand costs and benefits in terms of money - one way or the other.
